About Robert Furman

A business owner who builds practical digital solutions

I am a business owner who began building software because my own businesses needed better systems. That experience shapes the way I work with consultancy clients: understand the process first, then decide what is worth changing or building.

Instabus origin

Building around a real operating business

Instabus is an established UK minibus and coach hire directory and agency that I operate. Its older WordPress-based system no longer matched what the business needed, so I worked on a custom replacement around its actual workflows.

That work exposed me to enquiry flows, data migration, mapping, search, administration, APIs and live operational systems. It also reinforced a simple point: software is only useful when it fits the work people really have to do.

Selected work

From one operational problem to a wider set of tools

My selected work includes Vibe Code Academy, CommandDeck, Project Workspace, the SEO Operations Console, the Content Planning Workspace and Upsized. Some are separate businesses or products, some are internal tools, and some remain in development.

I describe this as selected work rather than a set of external client case studies. The point is to show the kind of systems, workflows and product decisions I have handled. You can explore the current public summaries on the selected work page.

Why this matters to consultancy clients

I understand limited time and budget, the cost of disrupting staff, and the difference between an impressive demo and a dependable workflow.

I also understand that businesses often need to work around existing systems. The best answer may be a small improvement, a better process, an integration, training or no build at all.

My approach to AI

I use AI extensively while designing and building, but I do not assume AI belongs inside every finished process.

When AI is useful, it should be controlled, explainable enough for the people using it, and placed where it supports the workflow rather than becoming a novelty layer.

Education route

Vibe Code Academy is a separate route

I created Vibe Code Academy for people and teams who want to learn how to build websites, applications and digital products with AI assistance.

It is connected to the same belief in useful building, but it is a different offer from consultancy. Some businesses need me to review and build around a process. Others may be better served by helping selected staff learn.

Yorkshire

Based in Wetherby, near Leeds

I work with businesses throughout Yorkshire and can visit where an on-site review would help me understand the workflow properly.
